GetleftToGo 1.2 released

GetleftToGo is a free program to download complete web sites.

You can download it at:

http://personal1.iddeo.es/andresgarci/getleft/english/download.html

There you will also find non-portable versions for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Cool.

No offense, but the format makes it look like spam. It's actually quite nice (and OSS). The only thing is that I always have the internet if I have a computer to use.

Heh.

I was about to post a question as to whether it was OSS or spam, but thought better of it and waited for someone to download it and check it out for me. Blum

You see, the posting rules

You see, the posting rules for this kind of thing said I should keep it short.

I may have overdone it though

really, really nice !

Well I have downloaded it and I have tried it (GetleftToGo from an usb-stick).

It's really really nice !! Smile

I have tried the portable version "GetleftToGo" ....

..... how portable is it ?
Does it leave any files / directories on the computer (I haven't found any ....) ?
Does it leave any entries somewhere else (registry) ?
How can I check registry.entries (sorry, I am a computer novice ...)

Should someone bring that into a *.paf-format ?
Maybe that makes sense ?

Regshot

You can use Regshot (Click) to check what entries are created/modified/deleted by a program. Run regshot before you install the program and click "1st shot" then install the program while you keep regshot open. After installation click "2nd shot". Then click "Compare". That's it! It will give you an overview of the things that were changed.

Leaving behind

GetleftToGo doesn't touch the computer at all, all it needs is
below the directory from which it is executed.

So example, in your usb stick in which you put it, you will
have a directory 'GetleftToGo-v1.2', and now in it you will have
two directories: 'getleft' with the config files and 'downloads'
where the sites will be saved unless you want to put them somewhere
elese.

It really doesn't touch the registry, the non-portable
version doesn't either.
