2008-03-28 Dev Test 3: cleaned up, tightened up some of the magic. The filename says 2.2d, but the enclosed file is 2.3 beta. They do seem to be interchangeable. Please report whether you would recommend the "release" versus a stable "beta" should be in this package. Actually, there's some stuff...
So, here's some notes that you might want to fix.
I understand that you've chosen 2.2d, but the latest beta is rather stable and a lot more featured. Anyway, it's not a problem to remove 2.2d and use the 2.3 instead.
Anyway, some fixing required, but it works.

rab040ma, you are doing a great job on all of your apps, however, the one issue i've noticed is that you leave a lot of unneeded files in the other/source directory. please only include the needed files, it will reduce file size by quite a bit.

ok....so I want to change the template for the html, but I can't seem to figure out where in the portable apps directory structure the new template should go. Any ideas? So far all I get is junk.
Switch from "Easy" to
Switch from "Easy" to "Expert" mode and there will be a menu choice for edit template.

If they do not work, you should probably ask on that web site how to make them work.

Arleady Portable?
Why wouldn't you just Change where HFS stores its data instead of making it portable this way. It was already portable Or at-least I believe it is. Open the menu and go to "save options" click "to file"
well.....
Its easier for the data to be saved to the registry instead of saving a file. Plus its faster to do it that way, all u do is exit and it saves it to it. I think HFS only stores to the registry so it would be easier to have the registry backed up before deleted.

If you assume that only
If you assume that only geeks will want to do something like this, then yes, it is already portable ... IF you select "to file" and IF you put your shared directory on the USB stick and IF you choose settings that make sense when you are on the road.
Just because it is portable does not mean it will integrate well into the Portable Apps Suite, nor does it mean that it defaults to settings that are easy for people to use in a portable way.
The launcher/installer and default options are attempting to set things up so the starting point is settings that are fairly ok for a portable app, and then to make sure the settings are preserved and backed up automatically by the backup routine. Yes, you can do all those things manually, but why would you want to if the launcher can do it for you? :-P
