I have updated my portable version of CamStudio to comply with the latest launcher specs etc.

Application: CamStudio
Category: Music & Video
Description: CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

Download CamStudio Portable 2.0 Development Test 2 [MB download / MB installed]

Please give it a try and post your feedback.

Regards,
Geoff

Release Notes:
Please note that this is not upgradeable to the 2.5 beta 1 currently available at CamStudio.org. If required I will provide a beta file set for 2.5 beta 1, although until it is finished it would have to be for testing use only and not everyday use. Until then I recommend you stay with 2.0.

Development Test 2 (2008-03-09):

  • updated readme.txt
  • defaulted fade in to 0
  • added appsource.txt

Development Test 1 (2008-03-08):

  • initial release

Great!

I'm so glad you updated this, I'll give it a shot for sure.

Should I mention at first I wrote:

I'm snow glad you updated this, I'll give it a show for fur..

I got snow and fur on the mind. Smiling

Well, there is that

Well, there is that "blizzard" in Ontario right now and since your profile says you live in that area of the country you could probably blame your snow thoughts on that. Laughing out loud

Haha, Yeah

And I want fur to stay warm. Smiling

And... Feedback

Here's the small stuff I check for:

  • In the Other\Source\readme.txt, only the first directory setup is supported now, and remove the version number from the first line.
  • In all of the source files, the 200 on line 183 should be changed to 0 as we're dropping fade-ins.
  • You're missing an Other\Source\AppSource.txt.

I think that's it, just some better icons and you're good it all looks good from what I check out.

Thanks again.

That's easy to sort then

I will give it a day unless there is a major error spotted before I update it to correct your points Patrick.

Yep

Sounds good.

Development Test 2

A day is almost up and there have been no postings on any issues, so I have amended the issues raised by Patrick.

It launches on win xp without admin rights

I've just tried launching it on my pc at work, and it launches without problem. I'll have to wait until I get home to do some more in depth testing....I don't think work would like me potentially saving proprietary information in avi or swf format and taking it home with me.
