Application: FlashGet
Category: Internet
Description: FlashGet (formerly JetCar) is a freeware download manager for Microsoft Windows.
Notes:
Here you can find launchers for FlashGet download manager. Every mayor version has its own launcher and it probably won't work with other versions, but you can try ;). They should be fully functional, feedback is welcome.
Before you can use FlashGet in your favorite browser you must close all open browsers. When you close them start FlashGetPortable and when it is running you can use browser, if you don't do this FlashGet will not work (catch links).
When you download launcher place it in the X:\PortableApps\FlashGetPortable\ folder on your flash disk (where X is your flash disk drive letter). When you start FlashGetPortable for the first time it will ask where is your FlashGet installation so it can copy necessary files to the right place to complete installation. Also note that download folder is always set to X:\Downloads (where X is your flash disk drive letter) for now.
You can download launchers from here:
FlashGetPortable v1.7.1
FlashGetPortable v1.7.3
FlashGetPortable v1.9.6
I also need to thank Klonk on his excellent Portable Application Template which helped me in developing this.
History:
2008-04-13
- Launchers now remember user set default download folder.
- Added launcher for FlashGet 1.7.3, needs testing.

FlashGet
As far as I am aware it is a download manager
yeah, it's a little annoying
yeah, it's a little annoying when a program is presented with no explaination.
so far I have found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlashGet
it's a download manager that seems to be useable with most browsers.

Proprietary software ..
FlashGet is not FOSS and therefore doesn't belong on portableapps.com .
While it is a good program there is a FOSS alternative :
Free Download Manager : http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
It's not perfect and I have to admit that I use NetTransport myself ..

Innit marvellous? Got a land full of kangaroos and I had to pick that one.
It is fine but...
I think you need to change the download directory from X:\Download to X:\Documents\Download to make it PortableApps.com style... ;)
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report :D
I agree! You could take a
I agree! You could take a look at keepass, I think it has some of that style code (in case you're wondering)
