2.4 English with DejaVu in font folder
The portableapps OOo 2.4 has the font folder, with DejaVu fonts in a truetype subfolder.
The standard OOo 2.4 shipped with DejaVu fonts version 2.21. There were some posts on their site regarding issues (print to paper was good but on screen there were occasional gaps or misplaced characters).
I see the portable 2.4 in English has DejaVu 2.24. (I had problems with 2.21 fonts but no probems with 2.24 fonts)
There was some discussion in the portableapps beta forum a few weeks back regarding fonts as well. You might check there.
The DejaVu Wiki site has font samples and free downloads. I have no idea if they support the German characters.

it would be a problem with German only. I prepared English, French and Italian myself but just used the German 2.4 PR2 you packaged. all the ones I did contain all the fonts. we won't do a full Rev 2 just for that. maybe just a rev 2 for german I guess

Working On It
I'm packaging it as OOP 2.4 DE with fonts with a bump in the package version (for the updater) and adding it to the 2.4 main package on SF. I think this will let us sidestep having to do a rev2 for DE and having it out of sync with the other packages.

It's Up
The German package has been posted to SourceForge. The link from the German OOP homepage has been changed and the file size, install size and MD5 updated. A note was added to the SF description and to the story on the frontpage of PortableApps.com about the additional package. As mentioned, the package version has been incremented to 2.4.0.1 so it will work with the updater as well.
