Pwytter Portable 0.8 Development Test 2 (Testers Needed)

Submitted by Kevin Porter on May 10, 2008 - 8:39pm

Application: Pwytter
Category: Internet
Description: Pwytter is an Open Source Twitter application that allows you to send and receive tweets (messages on Twitter) to and from your friends. It is in development currently, so features are being added and perfected.

Help needed
When you download the app, it's going to become apparent that the icon needs some work. It's really small and basic, and needs to be replaced. If anyone would be so gracious to create a new icon, that would be great. Thanks.

Infinity is an infinite series of nines (theoretically). Greatness is made of greatness (I think).

Errorez. : - )

First run, I received an error when attempting to launch:

---------------------------
Errors occurred
---------------------------
See the logfile 'D:\PortableApps\PwytterPortable\App\pwytter\pwytter.exe.log' for details
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

And here is the logfile contents:|

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "pwytter.py", line 964, in ?
  File "Tkinter.pyc", line 1448, in wm_iconbitmap
_tkinter.TclError: bitmap "media\pwytter.ico" not defined

Give me a moment. I'll check something. Yup, that's it, just add a SetOutPath "$EXEDIR\App\pwytter" before each ExecWait. Did you try it before releasing. ;P

And now for the rest of the usuals. I'll go create a Twitter account after this. :)

  • help.html -> General Pwytter Issues is bulletless. :O
  • help.html -> 'Go to the MediaCoder Portable Homepage >>'
  • FTR, all apps are going full out case for all directories now App\'Appname', John mentioned it in the Specs thread too.
  • We need to think of a standard to & Contributors, and contributors, and Contributors, etc. The menu about uses & Contributors, but the installer uses and contributors. I like & Contributors. :)
  • Other\Source\Readme.txt is for MediaCoder.
  • You have a lot of unneeded includes. I think all of them, actually.
  • appinfo.ini -> I do not believe Multimedia is a category. :)
  • We'll need to add in the language switching by Environment Variable, I can help! :)

That's it! Nicely done, and nice app choice. I hope it doesn't get be hooked on Twitter. :)

It's kinda sad when my desktop is messier than my room.

Okay.

I tried it out, yes. :P It worked just fine for me. I'll take a look at it, but I had no problems.

I thought I did a pretty good job of cleaning everything up, but I'll fix all that. Thanks for cleaning up my act.

BTW, do you have a cold or something? "I hope it doesn't get be hooked on Twitter." :P In case you try Twitter out, follow me. :)

I've fixed that, and hopefully I'll be able to upload development test 2 later today.
