1. Yes / No. The menu does have an Autorun.inf file included that will work assuming you installed it to the root of your drive, but it will only display an autorun window asking you to choose an action, 'Start PortableApps.com' being one. Only CD's can autorun on Windows without user action, and the U3 launchpad does this with a fake CD partition. So in short, most PC's will display the autorun window, which is just one extra click, unless the owner of the PC has disabled autorun.
2. What kind of tutorial were you looking for? Most of the apps are straight-forward, however many have support pages and links to their base websites. With the menu, there's nothing special. If you're using the latest beta (recommended, as it's more stable), it has a few more features, one being the ability to theme the menu. Here is a nice tutorial one installing themes (you can find them around the forum, and the site has some for the original menu too).
