Blaugh. You're right about that icon. I'd suggest making a new one and compiling WAtomic with it too. Other than that, the only other thing might be to replace "none so far" (under general issues in the help file) with the location of the help file in WatomicPortable\App\WAtomic\WAtomic.chm. Nice work.

Made my Day

Great!
Just added it to several directories ...
Seems to work well - but I will leave the extensive playtesting to the kids and my mother Smiling
hmmm the original icon (when I simply used the non portable version in the portable menu) seems to be somewhat better ...?

This is not just Watomic specific but I wonder whether calls that open the default web browser, such as the "about " button, can be redirected to the browser within portableapps? Watomic does have the possibility to change the default browser in the settings menu. Maybe it can be tweaked even more?
Nevertheless - thanks a lot for this one.

Yes

I know about the browser thing and thought the same myself. But I think for that I'd have to change the source and I cant/dont want to do that.

Fun game but had a crash

Downloaded and installed okay.
Started and built a water molecule.
Went on to build methane but decided to stop so I exited the application. It crashed with this error message:
Exception EGLContext in module WAtomic.exe at 0009EC51.
Context activation failed: C0070006, .

A second message box popped up after the error message above. The second box had:
Runtime error 216 at 7C90100B

Other than that it looks good. I'll try the next update.

Oh, I moved the slider to see the other molecules right before exiting.

    maybe

it should. I know Watomic doesn't comply with the latest specs but I don't think I'm going to update it for that only reason.

    Icon

Can we get a better icon from someone so we can pre-release this?

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

    lol

    lol

We definitely need a new icon.

    EDIT:

Here's an icon made from the Katomic icon if you want to use it. It doesn't say anything about KDE on it and it looks a lot better than the current Watomic icon:

    Got It

I snagged a higher res one from the Nuvola icon set. I'm gonna upload it for Simeon tonight.

Cool. I used an .svg file to make that one. I thought you needed it in .ico.

    Pre-Release Time

    It's pre-release time. Here's your splash screen:
    http://portableapps.com/temp/watomic/WAtomicPortable.jpg

    And an updated appicon.ico:
    http://portableapps.com/temp/watomic/appicon.ico

And an updated watomic.exe with the new icon and UPX compressed:
    http://portableapps.com/temp/watomic/watomic.exe

And a manifest to enable XP styles in the app (place it in the same directory):

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

    Thanks John

I was gone for some days so I only saw this now.
I'll do it when I can.

    EDIT:
Looks like you already removed the exe and the manifest. Can you email them to my address?

Had a couple capitals in there and it's case sensitive.

    Prerelease 1

I updated the installer, splash and Icon. I also added a "DefaultData" folder so please test it.

    He's Back At It!

Patrick Patience is back on a Windows PC and testing once again!

... and sadly, this applications seems to be quite perfect to his standards. Or perhaps he's just rusty?

    Works well with windows vista

I've just tried playing around with Pre-Release 1 on windows vista ultimate sp1. It works well and leaves nothing obvious behind.

The only "problem" is that I'm not very good at this game. Laughing out loud

    WAtomic lives on... ;-) THX

Very Happy to see that WAtomic lives on !
Very nice job... a big thx to all people working on it...
