Newbie Question - Add/Update only

I have an archive on the destination drive, and only want to add to and update files in the archive. The files on the source drive will be deleted manually after being added to the archive. I never want to delete files in the destination drive (although they can be overwritten with a newer version). Is this the way the Function "Update" works?

from what I can tell from your post that is exactly how it works, backup first and test to be sure though!
