How to display chinese subtitles when using VLC.

huangjiliang - August 22, 2008 - 9:55am

I tried VLC could play english subtitles, but only displayed square when chinese subtitles loaded. Could anyone kindly teach me how to display them correctly? Thank you.

PS, I also downloaded Mplayer portable, but don't know how to load subtitles (both english or chinese).

The PC you are using it on must have both the ability to display Chinese characters (English Win9x doesn't for instance, but 2000/XP does) as well as the appropriate fonts installed (VLC doesn't include fonts).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

My OS is Windows XP SP3

My OS is Windows XP SP3 simplified chinese edition. I believe chinese is installed in my system, but VLC just couldn't use them. Thank you for timely response.
