Big Mistake on PortableApps SourceFORGE page!

Hello

Some proxy was blocking direct download from the link on portableapps.com so I went via sort-of a 3rd party (SourceFORGE).

On the 'home-page' for PortableApps on SourceFORGE, in the blurb, I found this;

Download
GIMP Portable BG Window - GIMP Portable Background Window 2.1.3
Last Update: Oct 10 2008

Instead of

Download
PortableApps - 1.1
Last Update: May 20 2008

(or whatever it is meant to be)

For more info, here is the link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/

Please fix this mistake!

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

Ok Well..
We don't support direct downloads never had really
secondly of all I don't see the dates mentioned on the project page on sf.net (unless it was corrected by the sf admins)

Not sure what the other Zach

Not sure what the other Zach was saying...

I don't think it is an error. The download button automatically changes to list the most recently updated file.

If you go to the Browse All downloads page, u can still find everything

SourceForge shows the latest download...

With PortableApps.com, this means that any new download gets the focus (which covers all of our apps, from 7-Zip to whichever one is alphabetically last :P).

In most projects, they will only cover one thing, e.g. 7-Zip only hosts 7-Zip; however, the PortableApps.com project hosts all sorts of apps. So with the way SourceForge works, the latest published file will always appear in that box.

Way It Works

That's the way SourceForge.net works. It shows the most recent file released on the homepage. There is no way to change it.

End users should be coming to PortableApps.com anyway. SourceForge.net is meant for developers and geeks.
