Hi
were you using the Snc or Backup modes?

Hi Steve, I am using the
Hi Steve,
I am using the simply SYNC - to just get a copy of folders (and subfolders) from left to right.

Ahh
and were you by any chance using Update or Mirror (Update)? If so these should be much faster in the next release, due out any day now.

Actually I was using UPDATE
Actually I was using UPDATE
- looking forward to it.

Slow for me too
I´m trying to sync about 100Gb of data, but I don´t know now how many files or folders. For me, the worst part is not knowing the progress, at least in "files checked/ total files to check" ratio.
When Toucan is checking for deleted files in the source, compared to destination, after coping or updating (mirro(copy/update)), should it write something in the progress log file/screen? I know that when it copies files it does so. But when it deletes, does it also do that? I´m asking because I´ve just requested a "mirror(update)" operation and it started writing lines indicating file copy operations promptly. But after some time it stopped writing but is still running and i can see the HDDs activity leds blinking and flashing.
edited - ok, there are ~8.000 files in ~700 folders...
Toucan just restarted writing
Toucan just restarted writing on the progress screen, and it is still copying. This is strange... Because the file where it stopped writing is not so big, neither the next one...
edited - I think it would be nice to have in each line of the progress report screen/file the time required by the task to be accomplished. I mean, time required by the "line task" to be done.
Just to be complete, it took
Just to be complete, it took 1h50min to coplete the hole job (120GB/8.000files/700folders-mirror(update)-task), and the source drive was a 7200RPM 250GB 3.5" HD and the destination a WD My Book USB2 1TB external HD.
So
you are saying 110 minutes for 120GB, so 55 seconds per GB, so a speed of 18MB/s, which doesn't sounds too shabby to me for the program, but no fear, I shall look at ways of making it faster!
