TBP is set to check for updates to itself and add-ons. Is that behavior desirable? Most portable apps should be updated manually. If that is also the case with TBP, I suggest setting those options off by default. ( categories: )

Just Checks
It just checks. It doesn't auto-install. And we have to leave it on.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Maybe add it to the support page.
There is a list of user settings on the TBP support page. I think new users should know that they should not install it when prompted. There could be a warning about it with instructions for them on how to disable it themselves.
