How do you install Safari?

I'm new here I thought I'd ask a couple of questions. Hopefully this is in the right forum.

Is it possible to install any kind of app you want on portable apps? I'm trying to install Safari but I can't get it to load. If it is possible to install any app, how to you get Safari to install? Thanks a lot! Smile

yes

it is possible. Take a look at the Platform's Support page.

Safari won't install

Safari won't install properly/run portably just by installing it into the menu. But yes, you could install it into your menu.

I got it to appear on the

I got it to appear on the Portable Appps menu, but I can't figure out how to get Safarie to install. Is there some kind of tutorial I can read that explains how to do this? I'd really appreciate the help.

do you have a portable version

of the safari?

If not I doubt you will be able to simply install it and run portable although you might get the icon in the menu, but this does not mean it will work this way. Some apps can be made portable, some are almost portable by their nature and some might not be possible to make them portable.

Well, you can get a different

Well, you can get a different menu... like PStart or Appetizer (the most awesome start menu ever) and create a shortcut to the safari.exe. That's what i would do. It always works for me. The problem with the version you MAY have is that the menu will look for paf.exe to install. all you have to do with other menus is just put the command... much like a command you would put on the status bar on your computer.
ALSO NOTE: Appetizer is still in development and PStart is not from portableapps.com

Here are the links in case your interested:

Completely Unrelated To This Topic

You realize that neither of those will do anything to help make Safari portable... at all... which is what this topic is about. Safari is just as portable (read: not at all) no matter what 'menu' you launch it from. And you can easily add any apps you want (PortableApps.com Format or not) into the PortableApps.com Menu.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Oh... I misread the topic...

Oh... I misread the topic... sorry.
What I thought they said was that they said was that he copied the safari program files onto their flash drive and was trying to run the program from the portableapps menu.
Also, I had the PA suite (the largest version) and the window that allows you to browse when you to add an app only searched for paf.exe and another version i saw my friend have didn't require him to have a paf.exe, so i thought there were 2 versions.
Sorry for the confusion.
