When I look up instructions for using VLC as anything other than a player, I find instructions on using the wizards. But I don't find any wizards in VLC. Am I too blind to be allowed to use a computer? -----Paul----- ( categories: )

Documentation usually lags behind
For a lot of Open Source apps, there are barely enough developers to keep up with demands for updates, so the separate instruction manuals tend to be several versions out of date.
This is especially true with VLC!
However, I believe that the functions are still there, they just stopped calling them "Wizards".
What exactly are you trying to do?
From what I understand, the wizard was used to transcode or stream.
The latest version of VLC has these commands:
Media>Convert/Save
Media>Streaming

Convert/save was there on vlc 8. And i have a hard time transcoding through that way than wizard.
