Instructions for removing splash screen don't workxrvjorn - December 14, 2008 - 9:24am
OOo Writer takes less than 1 second to load and display a file on my computer, but I have to wait for the splash screen to disappear for about 5 seconds, so I tried to remove it by placing an OpenOfficeWriterPortable.ini file in the same directory as OpenOfficeWriterPortable.exe with this content: [OpenOfficeWriterPortable] However, I still get the five second splash screen. What have I missed? ( categories: )

maybe it has to be "openofficeportable" instead of "openofficewriterportable", so it affects the whole app as it uses the same splash screen

All entries in the INI are required and it must be formatted as the example in Other\Source. And this only disables the launcher splash screen, not OpenOffice.org's built-in one.

Not unless there's anything you want to change with the last builds. I'm using our new splash within OO.o itself and ditching the launcher splash. We do need an installer for the additional icon themes still right? Other than that, I think we're ready. I'll have the pages updated and the builds loaded early AM NY time so you have time to translate the pages. Oh, and if there are any major page changes, send them via email tonight
