Uira

Okay guys, I'm going to try and make Uira Portable. I think this app is the only one out there that is an open source swf editor. But before I do it... I want to know.

1) How many of you would like this?

2) Should I do this? It's in beta and currently a dead project (but it's still a really good app!).

Here's a direct link to the app.

I'm unfamiliar with this

I'm unfamiliar with this program, but people HAVE asked for a swf editor, and I'd love to have one (esp if it works on Windows 2000).

Undeveloped

Uira 'shutteddown' as they put it back at the beginning of the year. They didn't come up with much and it's really not all that functional. Salasaga is something to keep an eye on.

:'(

Salasaga doesn't support Windows.

Only Linux and Mac.

Yes It Does

It can be cross-compiled, but currently they've had noone to make the builds.

Oh, if only someone were able to get

the long lost source code of Powerbullet.
http://powerbullet.com/
Back in 2007, the developer Mark Carolan put out a call for help to make it open source.
I e-mailed him in March of 2008, telling him about the AWESOME developers here and he replied that he screwed up his backups and LOST his source code (eek!)

I know that decompiling can be tricky, but I'd bet he'd be OK letting someone take a crack at it (no pun intended) if they contacted him first.

I've used Powerbullet pretty often in the past, and it's a good solid program that works out of the "box", but it also has the capability of having custom animation effects.

Lolz

"... and LOST his source code" - Haha, awesome. It's funnier because it's not the first time I've seen that happen to a fairly large project.

Funny? I guess...

but the joke is on us! There are so few user-friendly and functional flash editors out there for Windows, I'd rather have the source code and find other things to laugh at.

So, anybody think they could decompile this, if they get the owner's permission?
