Thunderbird 3.0b1 Portable? Maybe?

Hey so I know that generally betas are not released for prime time (ie listed on the front page) but I think there is an exception for Mozilla products?

Anyone know if there will be a Thunderbird 3.0b1 Portable released in the near future?

plz....

Please don't request updates..... whether its beta or not... If it is going to get released it will happen when it happens.
Thanks,
Bensawsome

Huh. If this is how the moderators feel then they should add it to the guidelines.

a couple of things. first of

a couple of things. first of all, bensawsome isn't a moderator. second, only the most popular apps tend to be ported as betas, e.g firefox and openoffice.
also, you should be able to replace the thunderbird files in App\thunderbird with the beta ones for an upgrade, although sometimes small things are left behind that have been introduced in new versions of the app.
note: John T. Haller probably has better advice on this matter seeming how he is a moderator, the developer of Thunderbird Portable and also the site owner.

Think So

I think we'll do a TB Beta release as it's an important app and getting up to speed ahead of the actual release is best. It'll probably be another week as we have other apps (final releases) to get out first.

Taffin- but that might break the compatibility... thunderbird 2 and 3 prbly do alot different things with their files >_> I am not 100% sure of this... but just saying :S

from memory, the only thing

from memory, the only thing that is left behind in both the TB alphas and the beta is some form of logs located in appdata somewhere. but don't quote me on that, i'm not entirely sure.

I use Thunderbird Portable to

I use Thunderbird Portable to manage all my accounts, would be nice to see what version 3 looks like. I hope it stays compatible with everything, but just in case I will make a backup of the files. Biggrin
