The Logging int he IRC channel has gotten out of control. Several times a day I, along with other regular users are told to read the logs to see "well tommy called bobby a name" or "IRCuser33 is a total n00b look what he asked!" and Other JUNK like that.
This is madness.
The logging was put in as a teaching tool, for us to review support, see how stuff worked, and try to make support better. not to tattle on our fellow portableappers and see who says what about who, and to spy on what they say about each other while I'm not in the room.
"Oh well "johnny said he put me on ignore cause I called him a #$^#% so now I'll put him on ignore and since he can't see my comments I'll call him stupid! Wow I'm smart! My middle name is Einstein and I have the maturity level of a 3 year old!"
Lets cut the childish behavior people. Your all young adults so lets act like it. If you Don't like someone, just don't talk to them. Don't put them on ignore, epically your Ops, block them from PM if you like but listen to them in the main room, they might just know something.
Your only like 15 you don't know everything, listen to them, they might know something you don't. You've all had bullies and kids you don't like at school, just avoid them when possible but you don't (and can't) get them out of your life altogether.
And the couple of 'kids' that are there don't seem to have this issue a lot, they're probably better than most of us. And I say us, cause I know I do it to. which brings me to my next point.
1. Please turn off your personally logging of the channel. It doesn't matter what they said when your not that. I have turned off mine.
2. Please do not Tell me (or anyone else) about what's up on the IRC, when we're not on it. If you contact me anything else saying "hey this guy's a n00b, wanna come laugh at him being stupid" If you do that to me, I will block you. Now if you wanna tell someone "hey get on the IRC, we need help, you know how to do this" that's good. Also we do not need to be filled in on everything, every time we stop on the IRC. Like I said,it's not that important.
3. Don't go reading the logs to see who said what. IT'S NOT IMPORTANT!
if you want to check thought, see hat support went out, and to check for solutions to stuff we're had before, go right ahead. that's what they're there for.
4. don't go avoiding the logging by talking about people in PM, this is childish.
Thanks for listening to this rant, I hope you will try to cut down on this junk. It's sickening, it really is. I know, I do it to, and I'm trying to stop as well.
also on a sidenote, lets be nice and let only 1 or 2 people handle a support, 5 people all describing the same idea, in different ways doesn't work well. If you think the person handling support needs help PM them and tell them what might work better, even if you think they're an idiot or you don't like them.
Does this all sound reasonable or am I crazier than I think I am?

From someone who has more than likely been termed a noob and has partaken in OT chat in the main PA IRC room, Ditto.

It's annoying when people constantly bring stuff up from the past...And honestly what's the point? No need to beat a dead horse. Although personally I will not be disabling my personal logs I find them fairly valuable. Although I'm not really thrilled with the idea of having myself logged to a public server for the entire world to read.

Obviously not. I believe many of the prime PA client base, & some of the developers, are still in elementary school.

It may be the past for seasoned members but it's all new to new members, which all of us were at some point.

Those kids in elementary school aren't on the IRC and aren't a problem. You Aren't there, you have no idea what's going on. If you'd like to comment once you've hung around the IRC for a bit, please do. but Don't criticize me when you don't know what's going on.

I'm sure that's without parents permission.=
