Description: Unit Converter is a freeware tool that can take care of all your unit conversions even when offline. It has an easy-to-use interface and contains more than 900 units commonly encountered while solving engineering or everyday conversion problems. Other features include a function to Find Units and a Smart Input box that evaluates fractions, complex expressions etc. Everything is built into a single executable file. Its small file size makes it easy to distribute among friends and co-workers.

Freeware

Since this is a freeware app and since this website only deals with open source software, you should change it to a launcher (Unless portableapps.com now packages freeware apps).

May the Shwartz be with you

Launcher

My understanding of a launcher is that it contains everything except the actual program executable. The executable file cannot be included in the portable package becuase of restrictions on re-packaging and distribution. But in this case since I'm the author of the freeware program, that wouldn't be a problem. This application can be freely re-packaged and distributed without any restrictions.

Correct. However, at present

Correct. However, at present time, PortableApps.com only supports open source software. Freeware support has been "coming soon" for at least 2 years now, so I don't know how much luck you'll have. I'd recommend submitting it at http://www.portablefreeware.com/ so it's at least getting some recognition.

Packaging vs Promotion

Hey jc1, we just introduced the ability for freeware publishers to package their own software in PortableApps.com Format but we're not yet promoting that fact (we're doing one more installer revision first). Once we do, we're going to officially announce it and setup a forum for freeware publishers to be able to announce their apps right here on PortableApps.com. If you subscribe to our RSS feed or watch the homepage, you'll see when it's announced.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
