I tried opening a program off the platform and says "you are not allowed to write the registry, continue anyways?" If i press continue it loads it to a point then closes it out. What can i do to get around this problem or even better fix it?

Which app was it? If it was Windows or something on the local PC throwing the error, then that means you can't use anything that uses the local registry at all. This would exclude apps that use the registry temporarily as well as other portable software platforms.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
No...
I think it's for FreeBSB or something, I had the same error.
The app launcher is checking if the current user has the right privs for writing to "Local Machine" section of the registry or something.
Which means that you have to be an administrator for this app.
i was using a portable Photoshop CS3, i remeber it working a while ago but even ater re-downloading it it still won't work
Considering that is:
a) Illegal
b) Not from this site
c) Probably not very portable (as evidenced by the fact it won't work on a limited account)
you won't really get any support for it here.
If you want a portable image editing program and don't actually *need* it to be PhotoShop then you could try GIMP Portable which can be found in the applications section of this site.

No..
It might be just a launcher.

Seems unlikely, while I have seen one for Elements 6 on Smithtech's site (at one point) I've not seen one for and later versions. On the other hand I've seen loads of other (illegal) versions floating around
Its on [link to illegal software removed (please don't do it again) - moderator PP] Photoshop CS3 and CS4
unfortunetly as we said it's not our app and it's illegal, sorry we can't give support for this.

the one you got the PS from should be tested first on some sandbox computer or similar before trying them on regular work system.
Some apps are copied from here, sure they work, other are apparently build by thinapp and sometimes even this will not allow to make them really portable as it looks to me.
OK, yes I admit I was also tempted few times to grab some bits from there, but at least in one case I had to restore my w2k main drive from image after short try of some of those apps form the p...z site we all know here.
I produced complete mess of the whole system, I assume it tried to do some temporary settings for xp, not recognizing it is w2k here.
So be very careful what are you donig when starting those apps and dont be too much surprised when your system wont run after such experiment.
And don't be surprised that those apps do run sometimes on one computer, but will not run on an other, probably because the software was somehow too complex or not thinapped on a really clean system or what, no one knows.

Yeah...
That's illegal.
Remove the link to that site quickly, the rules here forbid you to post links to illegal sites that host warez and free stuff that shouldn't be..
BTW, you spelled the link wrong... but... I'm... yeah... remove it...
(Edit: I used the "Add comment" so the guy above can remove his link.)
