Is there any Flash Player to play swf games in a Portable way ???

Just wondering, will be really cool to have a collection of Flash Games and play it with a Portable Flash Player.

Adobe does provide a StandAlone FlashPlayer

Adobe does provide a StandAlone FlashPlayer which will play any .swf file, including games.

The bad news is the only way I know do get a copy is to extract it from from a 60 or 63 MB zip file which can be downloaded from here:

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&slice...
[note you must have javascript enabled for this page to function properly]

The file you want from the archive is called:
flashplayer10r22_87_win_sa.exe [the sa stands for Stand Alone]

One point of note, it is not "portable" in the PortableApps.com definition of "portable" in the sense that I believe that it does write to the registry and associate itself with .swf files.

Another Point of note, the program will allow you to save the .swf as a self contained .exe that will play by itself. It does this by packaging itself and the game together. This does mean that the self playing game would be the size of the original .swf and of the StandAlone Player combined. The StandAlone Player is about 5MB.

Thanks, I can never remember that location
The version I have is not the debugger version but it should not make a difference I suppose.

Flash data will be left behind

Do note that all data which the flash file writes/saves will be left on the host machine.

Is there "any" way to save

Is there "any" way to save the data on the USB drive instead?

Firefox...

If your Firefox can play flash (e.g. youtube) just drop the SWF on Firefox.

Of course, the Flash is no more portable and the caveats mentioned by Chris still apply. But I have one flash game on my flash drive (Perfect Balance, google it) and that's how I play it.

ARflashplayer

http://www.vector-ski.com/vecs/arflashplayer.htm

I use this one Smile

1. Its portable.
2. Too update the flash version just use UniExtract on the flash player installer to get the libs and copy them in to its folder.
3. No annoying hotkeys (eg. ones that hijack the space bar!)

Download "arflashplayer.zip (197 k)" as the "full" justs includes a old flash installer.
