Really?
As intriguing as this seems are you sure it works? I would be happy to use it on pcs with admin or power user rights only but I would have thought many of the services would leave track behind. Can one of the gurus have a look at this please?

half portable
as many other things it can be, have numerous versions on my stick and yes they work.
But clearly it is something interacting very much with the host system, so without admin or supperuser rights, no. There are 4 drivers to be installed for that and this can not be done under restricted user.
All the versions I have run only on XP and admin rights so far. Can not imagine how this should work otherwise. One fine portable configuration comes with one of the portable ubuntu, some from http://www.german-winlite.de, one I had from some spanish website.

I don't know about the
I don't know about the services, but all of its data can be redirected with a environmental variable. Zach said he was working on a portable, but he'll need to comment as to the status.

try yourselve
fetch a copy of one of those virtual box portable and try. Check what proceses are running and you will see that there are minimum 4 drivers to be installed for the virtual box to be able to run. Those can be preinstalled or will be installed on start up and uninstalled on close. No way around it.

Portable VirtualBox
Posted in wrong area here... see below.
Tested and it worked
Hi I have tested the software and it works very good. Can Someone make it a Portable app so it can be intergrated with the PortableApps Suite?

portable version of Virtualbox
A copy of a portable version of Virtualbox can be found at http://virtualbox-portable.softonic.com/ and details can be found by searching on this site.
I use the portable version with a number of guest OS's and have found it to work fine, although it is an old version. A wrapper for new versions that don't need admin rights would be great to see included in the applications portfolio.
The versions on the post from r.brem are more up to date than mine so will try them out

"search button, what search button ? doh!"
only launcher
on the softonic, so download form the vbox will then follow.
This is full virtual machine environment, interacting with actual hardware via drivers, so no way this can be done for restricted user account unless you preinstall all drivers on the machine first.

Virtual Box
I've very interested in using or creating a virtual instance for PortableApps and would love to see this in the PA format. One thing with Virtual Box though is that it does seem to have limitations with user accounts and it does appear to load/unload drivers from the host system. You can download it here or here. I haven't tried it myself yet.
I've posted a new thread in the development forum where I propose how to create a Virtual instance of Windows for PortableApps, that would not have the user and driver requirements and would address licensing (for certain usage) and performance/size.
Portable VBox
Check out this site: http://www.vbox.me/
yes
this is the download list of the http://www.german-winlite.de
It works, but it looks like there is still lot of work on it to be reliable.
Portable only half, since well there is no way around the drivers to be installed, so it will work on admin rights only.
