Where is the Black Theme

nomnex - July 5, 2009 - 11:43pm

Hi, I have read somewhere on this board about a - to be release soon - black theme for the PortableApps platform.

Any news? Thanks

Not here

I've not heard of any plans for a black theme yet. What I've heard from official sources is this:

1. Themes are coming in a future version. Currently you can change the theme, but this is not officially supported.

2. The ability to color a transparent theme any color you like may be coming as well.

This is the theme I use, it's black, and you can use it right now. Just exit your menu, find the Theme directory (e.g. F:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\DefaultData\Theme) and rename the Theme folder to something like Old Theme, then make a new Theme folder, and unpack your new theme into it.

I know this link http://ptc.kain-planet.de/details.php?file=419, thanks, but I am looking for a genuine black theme to replace the purple color only. I am not too found of the user themes. If you have the exact replication of the portableapps launcher, but in black, let me know. Thanks.

Hi John,

Glad to read you. Is there a date set for the 1.6 Platform pre-release (does it depend on the translations?)

I open the images of background and buttons present in Theme folder of the red one using paint.NET (GIMP should do the work to) and aply a Black & White filter.
The only trick (i think) is unselect the tow up corners of background.png, because i think that pink color is needed exactly as it is.

The result is this: http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4522/20361581.png
