Billy Mays Caps Lock 1.0 - Turn your Caps Lock key into a Billy Mays key Submitted by John T. Haller on July 6, 2009 - 12:48pm
I created a fun little utility that turns your Caps Lock key into a Billy Mays key. When you run it, a little Billy Mays icon appears in the system tray. Whenever you hit Caps Lock, you'll hear Billy Mays say one of his famous phrases ("Hi, Billy Mays here", "order right now and we'll double the value", etc). Just something quick and fun that I hope will make people smile. This app is unofficial. It is open source and follows all the usual format stuff, but I don't think I'll list it on PA.c.

WinPenguins Portable exists... it was portabilized a long time ago (about 2 years), you just have to search for it...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report

Im wondering if it should be this.....
I think doing that will allow CapsLock to be activated. Right now if you press the CapsLock it will play the sound but wont activate the capslock. But idk if your intentions are for the user to do that cause they would have to press it again to make things lowercase. But all in all this is pretty nice and glad to see ahk was used. I looked over the code and didnt find anything wrong. I just was wondering about the above but its not a bug or anything its just a suggestion that you can use it if you want but im not 100% sure if adding that in isolates that hotkey to this script but im pretty sure it does sorta in a way.

Since Caps Lock is essentially useless anyway, we don't want users having to worry about hitting it an even number of times when they want to hear some Billy. And if you really want to enable/disable caps, you just hit Shift-CapsLock.

I know I said I wasn't going to make this official, but is there anyone that wants it to be? What about just announcing it?
It seems to have made more fans than expected and if announcing it or adding it gets it wider exposure, that would be cool.

I've got the same thoughts here as Bart.S on this. It would be cool to release this, seeming how a fair few people already like it, but the issues (if there's any) would have to be with the sound files.

I think it would be a neat thing to at least announce, and it would be cool to have as an official app even as a promo or short term offering.
Besides the fact it seems like a fitting tribute to him, I like the fact it helps avoid accidental caps lock pressing.
