Open Source

I thought it was open source... but apparently I'm wrong. Sad
[Edit] Apparently they licensed it under CC-BY-NC-SA, how silly :P.
On a side note, I already tried UniExtracting it, doesn't work that way :(.

appetizer?

appetizer?

Too many lonely hearts in the real world
Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn
Don't wanna live my life in the real world

I have found that "Inno Setup Unpacker"

I have found that "Inno Setup Unpacker" will unpack Rocketdock. Available from GPW

I have tried Appetizer - I like it ,but it's not as convenient to use - and slow to startup with all my shortcuts

I've also tried Standalone Stack 2 to launch groups of shortcuts but its slow too.

I Like Rocketdock because it Quick and easy to use.
.
.
I have 400 apps in PortableApps.com platform launcher - its very slow to start, and I use it to keep every thing together - and for the auto updater when it arrives - I don't run it every time -I intend do a custom winxp instalation with the MyDocuments folders redirected to the D:/Documents , If I can work it out!
( I have evey thing permanently on my D drive - setup portably so I could copy evrything to a Portable HDD if I wanted to - I just put the PSmenu shortcut in the Starup folder to have everything to startup the way I like)

I use PSmenuas my base app to auto launch Apps I want to start automatic at startup ,including:

I have the 'windows taskbar' on the left side
rocketdock at the bottem - Off set about an 1" and set to 'popup on mouse over'
with my most used shortcuts including :

both shortcuts bring up the running instance if they are running

I have just found sTabLauncher I have it at the top -it seem to be good so far,it can handle 'a lot' of shortcuts without slowing down- but the 'popup on mouse over'don't seem to work so I bring it to the top with the rocketdock shortcut

- it would be good to have sTabLauncher as a PortableApp too.

PS. as an aside
imho 'PortableApps.com platform launcher' needs to save? the list of portableApps and load it at start up, and check for changes in the background at limited cpu usage - 'the refreash icons' can be used to force full speed check

and it needs a tab dock 'built in' and setup so that when and app is installed it could be 'tagged' with the 'tab name' of the tab it's to be shown on

Launchers

The way I see it, John is too busy with the current menu to deal with another one--I don't blame him. He's sick with the (swine?) flu, and he says that implementing categories is becoming a problem. If you really want to, you could set them to autostart.
And also, the way that you describe your usage (fixed drive, lots of apps) I think you would be a good candidate for Launchy which runs portably if you follow the instructions at the link, and is really, really fast.
