open office start center?Hahndo - January 16, 2010 - 3:51am
I installed OO.o on my thumb drive. Now, when I launch OO.o, I get all of the apps in my menu (Writer, Calc, Inpress, Draw, Math, and Base). I would rather have the Start Center in my menu than all of the other apps showing. I see the Start Center in the folder along with the other apps (it's the one that only has the seagulls flying), but it's not in the menu. How would someone go about changing this around. So, that the other apps do not show up only the Start Center. (Sorry, if this has been asked before. I did a search and could not find anything.) ( categories: )

Well, the home screen/launcher SHOULD show up; if not, it's likely hidden.
You can hide any app by right-clicking it in the menu and choosing HIDE. Then right-click any app and tell it to show the hidden apps. If it was hidden, you can right-click it, have it un-hide, then right click any, and un-show the hidden apps.

Head to the Suite support page and under Advanced Features, you find an option called "Show Single App Icon". I will do exactly what you want!

I had the same problem when I upgrade OOo to 3.1.1. The individual programs were hidden, but the main .exe was not. It just wasn't there.
