Corrupted profile

md75 - December 14, 2005 - 1:26am

Hi,

I've made a mistake last night. While starting PFF from the USB drive, I accidentally clicked on Cancel in a windows titled "Copying...". Now all my extensions are disabled, the menus reverted to default settings, the toolbars are gone. The only things that remained untouched are my homepage and my bookmarks. I can see all the extensions in the Tools -> Extensions, but none is active. I'm using version 1.0.7 because some of the extensions aren't updated for the last version of Firefox.

Is there a way to fix this or do I have to start from scratch? Please help...

You're stuck

If you ran it again since then, which you did, you're stuck. Most likley, your chrome.rdf is now corrupt... and that keeps track of all your extensions. You'll have to start a new profile.

You generally only see the copying message when running from slow media. (or if your chrome.rdf is huge) A future release will be hiding these messages.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

A new beginning

I'll start now a fresh instalation. At least I have the list of extensions, so I won't miss anything. Thank you for help and for a great application.
