ANOTHER INFORMATION BUG (2-21-10)
Arggg... I found another bug with the Information menu. Once you click on Instructions or License, you see a perfectly fine window. The next time after that, you get a blank window. I should update the license to GPL v3 too. - License has been updated and the bug has been fixed. And should be in Alpha 3 or possibly Beta 1.Edit: Fixed in stable (1.3+)

Thanks for being patient. The current Alpha 2 release is stable, but it's named Alpha because of the lack of features that need to be implanted into the official 1.5 release. I figured that I should follow how John did the Platform without a launcher for this app too.

I am afraid to get addicted to eXpresso...
Background:
My job is writing scripts. Usually, without eXpresso, scrips (.vbs .cmd, etc) start by double clicking. If I start using eXpresso, I might get used to edit the script by double clicking it. But when eXpresso is not loaded I might coincidently execute a dangerous script and I do not want that to happen...
Therefor I have a request for a ?minor? feature:
Open the _alternate_ application (first) when pressing e.g. shift-doubleclick.
In that case I might leave main application open and force myself to always shift-doubleclick to open a script.

That feature's already there, or at least it was in the last version I saw. You can add an alternate application to handle a filetype; hold down the Alt key and double-click (or hold down the Alt key and press ENTER, if you're the keyboard type) to launch the file with your alternate application.

I should have mentioned that some of the new GUI features aren't in the INI yet
[Edit: The weird menu bug is caused because of empty INI values that need to be added for all the langs other than English. I wasn't able to get translations for this version finished, and neither do I want to since I'm still not completely done adding GUI features. And the Menu Icons are going haywire because they're implanted the number value of each item. When one item is missing (Themes, Convey, New Items, etc) all the rest go haywire.]

Sorry, there was a bug with the launcher in the 1.2.* versions. Sorry about your settings
But just know that from here on, there will be no more INI's being wiped out, because of the new file structure.

I'm going to also see if I could implant a pre-associations file. Like in Xenon Portable.
I did notice a couple minor issues though.
On you English translation...when you select "Enable Glass" the window entitled "Incomplete Feature" should say something like "Please not that glass looks ugly right now." not "Please note that glass is looks horrible now."
With glass enabled, I can't read the double click extension window. The characters are randomized.
I can't wait for Convey to be put into place. That should have some great uses just with ClamWin and 7zip portable.

I've noticed that Double Click is unreadable
That's because there's no glow! For example, if you look at the title bar for all aero windows, you can see that there's black text against a white glowing background. This allows text to be readable.
I'm thinking about having all those weird options on a separate GUI, and make "Type and Run" more like Launchy.
I'm also thinking about making a Portable right click menu. You know the 7-Zip entry in the context menu? I think we could finally have that portable. It would cause a lot of problems since it's a complete new context menu in explorer.

I always thinking for a solution that hook into the system and "catch" file-open requests before system execute them, but without success to find one. I still think this is The Perfect solution. Until then, eXpresso is the best.
A feature request please:
If i open a .zip file in Windows Explorer, eXpresso is not working when double-click and the associated files-extensions are opening in system default application for there extension.
If this is not a bug, i want to ask for this feature to also work for files in compressed packages. ^_^

The roadblock that I didn't think of at the time is that .lnk files are in binary code. So I can't edit it like regular.
Wraithdu's solution was to just generate .lnk files, but I would like to do it the way Convey Portable does

I noticed that in the menu, the shortcut keys for "Type and Run" are listed in the opposite order as everywhere else (Alt+Win+... instead of Win+Alt+...).
Also (feature request), I'm wondering if it would be possible to customize the hotkeys, or at the very least have an option to completely disable them (and maybe customize "pause," as that is probably the one that would be most quickly needed). I already use Win+Alt+... as hotkeys for program launching, and this causes conflicts. So I can't keep eXpresso running all the time, which is kind of a pain.

Now I am using Coffee but willing to change it for eXpresso because in the Coffe there is no option for CHANGING ITS HARDWIRED KEY SHORTCUTS which I am using elsewhere and that is real pain here!
So I was hoping that eXpresso already have this implemented (meaning: editable key shotcuts), but I was very dissapointed noticed that also eXpresso exactly as Coffee and C.A.F.E. do not have such an important option - why? So my question: could at least eXpresso - as other two developers (Coffee / C.A.F.E.) seems do not care for troubles ppl have with this - implement such an option, please? It'd be very very very appritiated...(sorry for my english as I am not native englisg speaking person, so I hope you do understand me)

I could need some help with expressoDouble-Click on a file works fine (expresso opens the file with the specified program) but opening a link in an pdf-file (opened with Foxit Reader) to an OpenOffice-document doesn't work. If tried to use the "Monitored Window Configuration"-option (ahk_class classFoxitReader) without success.
Is it possible to change the file-associations with expresso also for starting the files out of an application, or what for is the "Monitored Window Configuration"-option?
I try to burn a tutorial for pupils and teachers built of linked files (pdf, odt, odg, avi) an a CD together with portable applications to open these linked files (for example with OpenOffice, FoxitReader ...).
I hope that expresso can help to run all the files on the CD with the portable apps.

The Monitered Window Configuration is set which programs eXpresso should be working in. By default, it's set the Windows Explorer and the Desktop.
It uses a function where it monitors when you have double clicked on a file in the moniter windows configuration and runs it with your defined app.

Hey everyone, long time no see.
I was checking out new versions/updates for various programs that I had and remembered that eXpresso was going to have a feature where, when you associate something like *.avi to VLCportable, any AVIs within the portable drives directories would open VLCportable, but AVIs within the Host computers directories would be unaffected and open in host-specified program. I was confused if this was a "Convey" feature or the feature specified under "preferences>Associations Config>Associate Only on Drive". Either way, it comes up with a box stating "(Please note that) this is not yet implemented". So, I was wondering if there is any new updates or progress regarding this feature, or perhaps any ETAs?
If I click on an http link in an email, can eXpresso open Firefox or Chrome instead of IE? Thanks!

If you use an email client (i.e. not webmail), you might try the program Browser Chooser for that... but it has to be registered as the default browser for that to work.

for example for pdf ( it has to show a popup of available programs like ,foxitreader,sumatra,any other programs etc) then it will be too good.
