Hi, all!
The next version of PNotes is ready for testing.
- Fixed bugs:
- Improper text displaying for right-to-left languages
- Processing hot keys for note (hot key works on all notes instead of selected one) (zw963)
- System tray icon restore after restarting of Window Explorer (hwq0086)
- Bullets/numbering menu: the menu disappears after changing hot key on Behavior page
- Minor bugs with language switching on Control Panel
- New Features:
- Different sounds for each note. You add sound as usual via Preferences-->Schedule and choose (and preview) sound for each not on its Schedule dialog. (patswovelin)
- Added option to duplicate current note (from note's pop-up menu) (snorrt)
- Different transparency levels for each note (winds350)
- Added option to set hot-keys for show/hide groups menu items (David Naylor)
- Two new commands added to groups' tree view: "Show group (include subgroups)" and "Hide group (include subgroups)" (ucr)
- For schedule types "Repeat Every:" and "After:" added option to choose program start as starting point (zw963)
- Added fourth optional command line parameter to -conf or -config switch: path/directory of notes.pnid file. In this way you can use the program with the same notes from different location, specifying common data directory and different notes.pnid locations. (tullio99)
- The click on clock icon of scheduled note will now bring up Schedule dialog (oleg)
- Added "Show All Favorites" menu item to main pop-up menu (horstepp2)
- Added check for overdue notes when computer resumes after standby (pbosoni)
- More optional actions added to double click on system tray icon
- Option to show alarmed notes on their original position instead of screen center. (Preferences-->Schedule-->Do not move notes to the center of screen) (oleg)
- Switches for all notes (protection mode, high priority etc) added to main pop-up menu
- Added new color chooser for colors management
- Added some effects like fluent notes closing and playing sound (Preferences-->Misc-->Effects)
Control Panel will now appear in front of other windows (btriffles)
- Notes are brought up by left click on tray icon (not by right click) (btriffles)
- Changed About dialog

I went back to the 5.5 build and will stick with it till things get worked out, at least I got my info back

Since its hit release candidate I really should start making those portable builds I promised. Its not so crazy right now . . .

I think I did
I placed it in the same place as the previous exe file. It showed all the groups i created but not the notes upon reinstalling the official build it reverted back to right way

Missing notes
PNotesPortable (if I understand right) checks the version of PNotes.exe on start and exits if the version does not match.
If you try to run PNotes.exe itself instead of PNotesPortable.exe, it points to its own data location (PNotesPortable\App\PNotes\data), not this one where all your notes are stored (PNotesPortable\Data\settings).

If I replace PNotes.exe v5.5 with PNotes.exe v6.0 and run PNotesPortable.exe the splash screen appears and... that's all. What command line do you send to PNotes.exe?

The empty "" before -conf is odd, it prevents the program from start.
In your .nsi script I've found "$ADDITIONALPARAMETERS" before -conf switch.
I'm wrong, that doesn't prevent, but something else DOES do that, at least at my computer. I'll continue to check.

Changed way the command line is parsed. Now -conf or -config switch is processed regardless of its place in command line - Oliver, it would be great to check.
At the same time fixed bug with not saved schedule of duplicated note (tullio99).

Is this a full paf.exe file or just the exe file?
Guess I figured it out after downloading it. How come you do release it in an install format of paf.exe?
Did you address any of my concerns about directions of where to place? Of not being able to view previous notes?

The file should be at: PNotesPortable\App\PNotes.
In this case if you try to run PNotes.exe itself instead of PNotesPortable.exe, it points to its own data location (PNotesPortable\App\PNotes\data), not this one where all your notes are stored (PNotesPortable\Data\settings), so you won't see previously saved notes.
