New Forum Badges

I've enabled new forum badges for all users. I've made them a bit less intrusive than before. I also enabled the ability to display multiple badges. They all have hover titles and link back to the Team page with more of an explanation of what a moderator, translator, etc are. I added a translator badge but haven't gone through and enabled it on all accounts yet. You can see my 3 in this post. To see all 4, see one of Marko's recent posts here: https://portableapps.com/node/23795

I'll go through and enable them on the rest of the accounts over the next couple days. If, by the end of this week, you're missing one from your ID, just drop a note in this thread (please not before the end of the week, though).

Note that you may need to reload to get the latest badges if you were looking at the site during the last hour while they were tweaked.

I liked the old ones since it

I liked the old ones since it was blatantly obvious what they meant. I can see less observant users asking how they can have little images to the right of their username.

Vintage!

It's coming, be patient

You get a pink neon peon and a hot-pink pita. Special badges for special people. Biggrin

Hmm...

They provide more information, but they just don't seem to fit in. While the previous badge was an image, it was decorated text, whereas these are pictures, which make it feel more cluttered to me, I think.

(Ten minutes later, after using it for a while.) It's not so bad, I think it's growing on me... Smile

I am sure I have OCD...

I like the new badges, they are less in your face and fit in well with the theme of the website, IMHO...BUT...

I don't agree with the layout...I think the badges should be after (Homepage)...

Otherwise it messes with the layout, with some users having no badges splitting up the two sets of words, and some with it spaced out by the badges...

Like: (forgive the use of your name, but I have nothing next to my name ;))

I am not even sure if this is possible, but I am sure you get the idea...

Also, the captcha thing is new... Pardon

I think I could qualify for the 'pita' badge as well if ever implemented Blum

Captcha = Grey post

The captcha to make a comment only appears if your post seems a little spammy to Mollom. Not spam, not ham (non-spam), but a little spammy. I'd wager it's the dropbox links, since spammers use those in forums.

Oh and I was considering moving them after the homepage. And trying some visual changes around them, too.

Grey Post - Gotcha...

Understandable...they are not referral links, as you can see, I wouldn't do that... Wink

As for the placement...I thought about it a little before...

Before the name would be wrong, from the pic to name to homepage is all profile info so should be together, then the badges are bigger than the time that it is posted, so they should go before... but not before any profile info...however this is obviously my opinion, and could well be completely invalid... Blum

Plus, it follow a sequence of lessening colour... Biggrin ...

Yep, definitely OCD...
