Please test! Over 50 downloads of the previous dev test and no feedback. I don't think my first one is without errors.

Merry christmas, and thanks for the coal, Wink

Hi Depp

First off I should have searched Smile that being said I did not and actually packaged this for PA. Then I found that you had already done it!

Curious as to whether you used the exe file or the zip file to package?
As I used the zip file and seems that my version had less to it, does not require Default Data or as much of a launcher file. I was just curious if I did something wrong or not. Mine seemed to Regshot ok with nothing left behind.

Hi vf2nsr

This was my first app and I think it has some issues, I just introduced because I did not understand the concept quite right at those days. The data in the DefaultData folder is completly obsolete (I think I unnecessarily tried to nail the output directory to the documents folder and just did it wrong). It works as it is atm, but I used a preconfigured AppNamePortableSettings.ini to achive that. John once stated that this is not to be done ever. Wink
I just did not find time to update the app and eliminate that error (as interest seemed somewhat low).
I was waiting for an update to the base app, but could work it out this weekend (for self-training purposes). Smile

I have some doubt about legal issues as I did not include the source code but only link to the base app's hp. Also the source code of mplayer is not included (base app issue) and I don't know if that may pose a problem. The folks at ffmpeg.org seem to be a bit touchy with such things...

I think I still have to learn a few things.

-edit-
btw. I used the zip

IMHO

The source code for PhotFilmStrip is available here on Sourceforge

Mplayer info found after digging through Sourceforge is here. Since both are hosted on Sourcforge I can not believe that they are not open source?

Other than that I do not see an issue with why you can not develop it. BTW I can send you the on eI did if interested but sure it would bore you

Yes, I am interested. It doesn't hurt to learn from other' ideas. Wink

My concerns were not about the open source as they are both GPL. But I think to proper handle it I have to include the source or to host it on my download location, too. I don't know if pointing to the origin source will meet the requirements of GLP. In the base app, mplayer is included but without the source code. I don't know, it that is ok, as it seems to be a standard package from mplayerhq.hu, but I thought redistributing should include source code as well.

Maybe I should consider to open a sourcforge account for hosting it.

The same applies for The Powder Toy, too, were it seems a bit more complicated to get the whole sourcecode (no tarball but source located on github. Need to create an account to even get access to it)

Edited: The link has been removed. This is depp.jones's project. I assume since the file has been downloaded 5 times already that he has it. So if anyone else wants the program download his test please Smile Smile

Zipped with 7zip so you can open it and view and not have to worry about it overwriting yours

Thanks, I had a look at it. I adjusted my package a bit (deleted the DefaultData folder and pointed the appinfo.ini to a generic homepage instead of this thread).
I had put in drive letter changing that still works as the same parts of the .PhotoFilmStrip are affected.

Yes, I realized that

Yes, I realized that yesterday evening.;)
I think I'll have some time on wednesday to do the update. No need to hurry as the only difference seems to be a new localization (korean).

I repackaged this version, using another mplayer binary. This is due to the base app including mplayer but not its source code.
As I used a pentium 3 optimized build - could someone with an AMD cpu test if it still works for them, too (the information was kind of sparse on that).

Gone back to original base app package. I got an answer from the developer where to find the source code.
-edit again-
I just added automatic language switching. I'd be glad if someone could have a look at it as I am unsure if I really understood the concept. Maybe I overcomplicated it because I used Audacity Portable as learning example... Don't know If I really needed %PAL:LanguageCustom%.

my comments

Yes, language switching is set up properly, as far as I can tell.

In your launcher.ini, you indicate DirectoryMoveOK=yes, I haven't tested it, yet, but to ensure path portability, you can try adding this FileWrite:

[FileWrite3]
Type=Replace
File=%PAL:DataDir%\.PhotoFilmStrip
Find=%PAL:LastPackagePartialDir%
Replace=%PAL:PackagePartialDir%

[EDIT] Ok, I tried changing the path, and it seems to work ok still, so you shouldn't need that FileWrite.

Thanks for testing and sorry

Thanks for testing and sorry for the late reply. I'll add that section to the next release just in case someone decides to use the Data folder as output directory.

Somehow I missed the previous two versions although I last checked about a week ago. The (english) homepage seems not to be up to date sometimes. I better monitor its sourceforge page from now on.
