File-System / U3

if I want to use the compress capability of NTFS on my U3, will it damage its functionality?

Don't think you can

I don't think you can reformat a U3 drive to use NTFS. But you can always try it and let us know if it works.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

it's possible

easy possible with "convert e: /fs:ntfs /v".

i allready did it with a normal memory-stick - it works fine.
but i did not try it with my new U3 stick - i'm affraid the u3 funtionality will not work anymore.
