Program Icons

All of my program icons in the left pane are too large (?) and only the upper left quadrant of the icon shows, not the nice full mini icons as pictured on the home page. This makes them hard to identify. Anyone else have this issue or a resolution?

I searched, but found no problem like this. I'm running XP pro SP3 w/ WS monitor @ 1920 x 1080.

Thanks;
Sarris

120dpi

That means you have Windows set in 120dpi mode instead of the standard 96. Windows has always done a bad job of this and you'll notice many apps with issues around this. In the next release, the platform will support this better and also allow you to turn off scaling for a more accurate, if smaller, menu display.

96 dpi

Thank you for your response, but with all due respect, I do have the Windows set at 96 dpi mode. I have changed the icon size in the appearance/advanced settings to a size 48.

Is this the reason for my problem, or is there something else to check?

Thanks;
Sarris

Ah

Ah I forgot about that in XP. XP has issues with setting icon sizes larger. If you set it back and reboot, you'll find the problem goes away.

In the next release, this will be fixed for all PortableApps.com Format apps, though non-PAF apps where we extract the icon from the EXE via a Windows API, Windows XP will probably still give us the wrong one.
