How do I update GnuCash?

GnuCash was last updated: 2010-12-22
GnuCash Portable was last updated: 2009-08-31

If someone can tell me exactly which files to replace, I will install GnuCash into a VM (Virtual Machine) and copy the files over to update my GnuCash Portable installation.

GnuCash is in the queue of apps to be updated, you are better off waiting until the official portable version is released.

Updating some or all files yourself has a potential to break the portability and/or stability of the portable app, as files and registry entries may be modified or created in the newer version of the app that the previous version's launcher is not able to handle.
