They have the same name and icon (writer calc impress)

LibreOffice is related to OpenOffice. LibreOffice (LO) is a fork of OOO. Some devs were unhappy with how things were handled by Orcale after they bought the trandmark and name rights from Sun so they took the sourcecode, renamed the thing to LibreOffice and went from there.
