how to tell when to move a DT app to the next phase

How long should i wait after receiving no issues/bug reports on a particular app before posting in the "Apps Ready For Official Release, Post Here" topic?

also, what about going from pre-release to release status? is there any thing special that i need to know?

Testers

Basically for dev test to pre-release, we need it tested by a few folks and confirmed to be clean in terms of a regshot and working on Windows XP to 7 (and Win2K and, perhaps, Wine if possible). For pre-release to final, it's about the same.

We're doing things a bit informally at the moment, but I'm hoping we can formalize our testing team after 2.0 is out next week.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Just so i have things striaght....

So if i have an app that i portablized and that i believe is ready for the next phase but still needs testing on a couple of systems what would i do? make a request for testers? or would it be better if i waited until after 2.0 came out?

Depends

I usually check to see how many downloads I have of my apps, I then in my Dev posting ask for any issues or testers to report back on issues. I also will generally wait for an update of the app to make sure that it works still. In my short time here I would say on average the time frame is around 6 months from original post to possible official release
