Grouping apps

I am switching to Portable Apps from [illegal software].
The latter, however, has an advantageous feature of grouping the apps under headings like Audio, File Management, Graphics etc.
How can I do that in Portable Apps?

Shortly

We're about to release 2.0 which includes this ability both automatically (using the categories you see in the app directory translated into your chosen language) by default as well as manually creating categories/folders and placing apps in them as you'd like. There are a few options in it for organizing your apps based on how you'd like to do it. It will be launched VerySoonNow(tm) and announced on our homepage, twitter feed, facebook and via RSS, so you can keep an eye out for it however you'd like.

I removed the name of the other software as they're an illegal software distributor and we only do fully legal software here. The individual running that site repackages software without permission and has taken many of our software packages and removed the open source license, readme files and splash screens and passed it off as his own work on dozens of occasions.

Well, maybe it was a mistake...

...to switch to Portable Apps from "illegal software", since the latter still seems to be better...
If the new final version 2.0 comes one day, after all, I may reconsider it.
Now I have been waiting nearly 3 weeks and still nothing has happened.
From remarks by others here it seems that some of them have waited a lot longer...
If nothing happens soon, I may have to join their disappointment.

News Soon

I'll be posting an update this week with our final timetable. Now that our site is able to handle the large increases in traffic we've seen (as opposed to being overloaded a few times a day as it was recently), we're able to focus on finishing up 2.0.

As always, I'd recommend against using the illegal software at all due to his numerous illegal and unethical actions, as well as the possibility of the software doing other nefarious things, but that choice is up to you as the user.

Not in this version

The current "stable" version 1.6.x and the most recent beta version 2.0b5 do not support this, but the upcoming release should have it.
John beat me to this!

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Oh Dear

Here we go again with the " any day now " and " keep an eye out " comments.

We've been keeping an eye out for months now and still nothing.

Oh dear again

Just pointing out the number of times we have seen this type of comment.

We have been told keep an eye out, any time soon, next week, since before Christmas.
Why should we believe it this time.

Not to be narky, but for the same reasons some of us still read posts by users who are known complainers: because one day it might actually not be a complaint, and might be a post worth reading.

Stop Threadjacking

Kindly stop threadjacking, crookadile. 3 posts that have nothing to do with the topic do not belong here. I've removed the last duplicate one. 1/2 of this thread was complaints posted by you.
