Maybe I'm way off base since I'm new to the U3 flash drive, but don't all portable programs have a U3p file to install? If so, where is the one for AbiWord? ( categories: )

AbiWord Portable is a portable app
All the apps listed in the Applications directory are portable apps, not U3 apps. Portable apps run from *any* flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive and even from a CD. U3 apps that work with the U3 Launchpad must be specially packaged for the U3 platform. There is currently no U3 package of AbiWord and none is planned at the present time. (The U3 apps published by PortableApps.com are listed here).
Of course, you're welcome to extract AbiWord Portable to your U3 drive (outside of your U3 Launchpad) and use it just like you can from any other drive. You just browse to the directory you install it to and run AbiWordPortable.exe.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Portable launch ..
Or your excellent PStart launcher I just discovered. Good job ...
