To report a bug, one should begin in the line "Subject" with [Bug], so this bug then appear under the link Open Bug. Is it correct that this only works if I open up myself a thread here and proceed as described?

What are you asking? If you are asking whether comments entitled [Bug] show, no.
I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

I reported a few hours ago a Bug regarding Eraser Portable that has not appeared in Open Bug list. I have therefore assumed that the reason for this non-appearance of this bug message was, that I do not opened this thread. I've only reported this bug as part of a reply.
You have to edit the title of the original message, then it will show in the bug list.
This change can only perform the founder of the thread. Insofar, my assumption seems to be true that a later reported bug within the thread does not appear in the open bug list (as in my case).
Ahh, you weren't the original poster. Either the original poster has to do it, or a moderator will.
Pa menu tries to update 2.2 to 2.1 and goes to background immediately.
Now that's a bug!
As there is no such thing as 2.2, that is unsurprising. 2.0 PR 2.1 is the latest release. If you have a genuine bug about this, please post it in the bug report post: https://portableapps.com/node/28593

2.2 as in release 2 and yes it is trying to update to 2.1
2.0 Pre-Release 2.1

You definitely can take his word on what the correct latest version is!

Yeh so this is a bug submission thread no, so how about doing some testing ppl
No, this isn't a bug submission thread, it is a thread about how to submit a bug.
As John said above, if you have a bug to report, please report it in the appropriate place.
