Release Notes:

Amarok 2.5 -2
Development Test 2 (2012-04-14)

  • Program now launches completely from Portable Apps Launcher, did away with bat file load
  • Fixed the crash on initial start by including some default files
  • Further updating of custom launcher and custom installer

Many thanks to Pyromaniac, Gord Caswell and kAlug for their help on IRC with getting these issues resolved.

Things to still fix:

  • Language switching this feature will not be enabled at this time, after talking to the Windows developer it appears it is not offered in the Windows version.
  • Compacting base app and dependencies
  • Possibly changing the variable for the home directory or moving it to data folder with directories move. The directories move at this time break the program for the home folder, I imagine I need some more custom code to movie before program even launchers, perhaps in the init or oninit?

  • Development Test 1 (2012-04-12)
Updated base app to be current with latest version, instead of the out dated "portable" version. Now using KDE 4.8 as well as new codecs. Data settings are now saved in Data directory, home settings still saved in amarok folder. Updated custom launcher to close processes that remained open, updated installer as well as custom code for installer.

LANG, glibc

Set the LANG environment variable as %PAL:LanguageCustom% and use PortableApps.comLocaleGlibc as base.

Previously known as kAlug.

As

stated I am not sure that the base app as it is created here will support it, I am still looking into that.

ok

dev 1 leaves no entry in program menu basically all I changed was a tweak to bat file and moving settings the move of the settings appears to be what causes the issue of the program entry at this time I am attempting a fix. At least I keep myself updated by posting lol

Looking for some help

I need to close some processes after the program closes, I now that his can be done with a custom.nsh not sure how to do so so did some searching and found this on the NSIS page For kill Process I have downloaded and read the read me file and appears that is will also support Unicode. I just have no clue as to how I implement it in a custom.nsh I know that It would go into the SegementPost section and that is about all I understand. It appears to have its own dll file as a plugin and not sure where that needs to go, would it go into the other source folder alongside teh custom.nsh file?

Anyone care to enlighten me?

Looking for some incite

I have resolved the issue with closing processes and will release that fix however there appears to be an issue with the settings, If I move them using directoriesmove it appears to crash the program, I can leave them in th replace that they are located and then use a custom installer to not remove them so settings remain intact OR I can write custom code to move the directories before app is called and then move them again when app is closed....any thoughts?

Issues

On a clean install new update seems to work ok? However all of a sudden when I update teh USB drive it causes the program to crash on first run, then adds a folder to programs menu( thought I had fixed this) If you delete the folder and run again all seems to run ok. Anyone else noting this? May have to do with the home folder in the app directory and hte program not seeing it correctly? Am looking into custom code to have program run from it instead of bat file...any and all feedback welcomed. Also will begin to look at languages as well in next development or two
