GNUmed electronic medical record - testers wanted

Hi all,

I have prepared a portable version of our electronic medical record software GNUmed.

If anyone wants to try it out and hopefully provide feedback have a look at

http://www.gnumed.de/downloads/client/1.2/GNUmed-client.1.2.0.paf.exe

Is there some formal procedure for GNUmed to be given offical portableapps blessing ?

Thanks,
Sebastian Hilbert

Test

We just need a few users to test it and one of our release team to verify that it is fully portable (leaves nothing behind) and follows the PA.c Format spec (Data in the right location, etc).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I'll take a look At it Tonight

John:
I'll take a look at it tonight. Besides the portability I'd like to see/confirm if any data entered is encrypted.

Too much Trouble

Sorry not to have completed the evaluation. The program seems to require the installation of a server database as well as the client database. This would seem somewhat discordant to the philosophy of PortableApps, that is to run independently from the flash drive.
Maybe I'm not running/trying to run this software properly (Also - it requires a password to open up the program).

Much work to be done

This isn't in proper PortableApps.com Format. Here are a handful of the things that need fixing up:

  • You need to use the PortableApps.com Launcher (and its app template).
  • The AppID isn't compliant, it should be GNUmedClientPortable.
  • The filename must be left as the one given by the PortableApps.com Installer.
  • For a test release, the DisplayVersion needs to be of the form "1.2.0 Development Test 1".
  • appinfo.ini needs cutting down to size; only include what's necessary.
  • Don't use ExtractIcon; appicon.ico, appicon_16.png and appicon_32.png need to follow the appropriate format
  • Omit App\DefaultData when it is empty

Read the PortableApps.com Format spec and the PortableApps.com Launcher manual for more details.
