ServiceN in laucher.ini

Hi,

I read PortableApps.com Launcher Manual, and I see launcher.ini that has section [ServiceN], but it said: "Services are currently disabled in the PortableApps.com Launcher." So Can I restore Services in PortableApps.com Launcher? What do I should with apps have services?

Anyone can help me! Thank you very much!

No

It's not yet complete and buggy. So services are not yet supported.

Yes, I hope it return!

Thank for your help! Service is really in need of some apps! Sometimes it depend win xp or win 7, such as Internet Download Manager!

So I hope service can be used in PortableApps.com Launcher in the future!

Admin Rights

Service support will, of course, require admin rights and won't be allowed in officially-released apps that shouldn't require admin rights to function (like download managers). Only in apps that a user would expect to require admin rights because the base app does (system utilities, disk defragmenters, system cleaners, etc).

If they can actually handle

If they can actually handle drivers properly and load/unload/reload them without a reboot, I have a lot of IDM done, though I'd never be able to do an official release.

I'd just post the launcher for whoever wants it. They'd have to run it on their PC to get the program files.

That driver handling, and dealing with folder paths, is what I still need (they store the paths in an unusual way, no nice way to set them, they are raw hex in a special encoding in a REG_NONE value).
