John-

It would be great if you could create a launcher for the excellent word processor QJot. As of now, it can be made portable, but you have to install it, copy it, and then uninstall it. I would use this if you made a nice launcher for it. It opens and saves in .doc, .rtf, and others.

well?

Are you planning to do it? You would only have to create a launcher, not even a faked %USERPROFILE% environment.

Is it open source?

It doesn't appear to be. If not, then no.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

hmm

So there would be legal issues? If so, than a link and a write up will do just fine, because you can install then copy it over then uninstall it.

It says on the website that

It says on the website that it is fully USB compatible. I guess that means that it wouldnt need a launcher?

yes, but

you need to install it to the local disk, copy it to the USB device, then uninstall it from your system, which I think is dumb. They should just have one where you can download what you would copy and just put it on a device, and then a version for those who want to install it.

Well There You Go

You know the steps to make it run from your USB drive, and in my personal opinion, that's really quite easily. You should only really have to install it once. Once it's installed on your USB drive, you're done. No need to reinstall it ever again. Stop being so lazy Eye-wink .

*shakes head*

I already posted earlier that I would do it that way, but I thought that it would be better to have a launcher. When that turned out to be impossible, then I said to just have a write-up and that I could do it that way. Read before posting. Eye-wink

yes!

I am happy to report that I did the install and everything and the program works perfectly. It writes all settings to the app folder and everything.

See?

Laziness is a bad thing Sticking out tongue .
