how do you get it to work on an 80 gigabyte video ipod?

Copy it there
Your iPod can show up as a drive letter. You just install it onto that drive.
If it doesn't yet show up as a drive letter, you need to:
1. Open iTunes
2. Plug in your iPod
3. Select your iPod in the left frame (it's under Devices)
4. In the Summary tab, check off "Enable disk use"
