Which Browser portable apps are truly portable?

I just wanted to clarify, because I use Iron Browser.

If I download Iron browser portable from their website, their forum users complain that the app isn't truly portable, that some files are written onto the C drive into some untraceable folder that can't be easily deleted.

When I use a browser app from Portable apps, is it all guaranteed to stay within it's own folder?

Yes and No

All our apps are prohibited from leaving files behind in TEMP, AppData, Local AppData, Documents, etc as well as the registry. Any that do, please file a bug report. There are a ton of 'portable' apps that leave all kinds of things behind in those places. Some people's definition of portable just means 'if it runs without installing' even if the app leaves all its files and settings behind. Our definition is much more comprehensive and strict: https://portableapps.com/about/what_is_a_portable_app

That said, there is no such thing as a stealth portable app that leaves nothing behind. Anyone who claims there is is either lying or doesn't understand Windows. All apps will leave bits behind in certain system areas like specific registry entries as well as Prefetch and similar files. These files and entries can not be removed without admin rights which you will not have on a machine that isn't yours.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
