Large (Spanned) Zip Files Won't Open

wrishel - December 20, 2006 - 11:02am

WinZip supports a format where the entire zip archive is broken into multiple files. It is necessary, for example, on my iPod which can't tolerate a single file > 4 gigabytes.

When I try to open this in 7-Zip it does nothing.

this type of question should be asked at 7-zip's homepage which is

Yup

Check with 7-Zip.

And I doubt it's supported. Splitting ZIP files is non-standard and only supported by a couple of proprietary products (and it doesn't work between products).
