Hi, I've just updated LibreOffice to version 5.0.0, but every component of it crashes at start. The previous version worked fine.
I've got Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Thanks!

LO Portable 5.0.0 works fine on Windows 8.1 64-bit here. What's your full install path? What's the error it shows? Have you tried resetting your settings by deleting the Data directory (or just moving it elsewhere temporarily to test)?

Same here with Win 7 64bit. Reinstalled previous 4.4.5, not sure what latest 4.4.5 is.
Same Questions: "What's your full install path? What's the error it shows? Have you tried resetting your settings by deleting the Data directory (or just moving it elsewhere temporarily to test)?"

Updated PortableApps Menu version of 4.4.5 install in c:Papps/PortableApps.
Just tried a fresh install of 5.0 in the root of thumb drive.
No error messages, nothing starts. Nothing shows in Task Manager
Fresh install of Windows 8.1 64-bit. Haven't even visited Windows update yet. Installed at: C:\Portable Apps\LibreOfficePortable. When I run the LO shortcut, nothing happens. Task Manager shows nothing new. Went to: C:\Portable Apps\LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\program and double clicked on sbase.exe. Get the following error: "The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I think all that's wrong is that it now requires a new VC runtime. The publisher updated the build process between 4.4.5 and 5.0.0 but I missed it. Try applying this patch and report back please:

Patch worked on my stand alone thumb drive install. Will wait for update to install on PA menu on C drive
Thanks
How do you install the patch?
Thankyou
The same way you upgrade an app. Install right over the 5.0.0 install.

This patch is now available on the LibreOffice Portable homepage and will be pushed to platform users. We'll need to wait for the publisher to post the full fixed Rev 2 packages before making them available.

The same thing is basically happening to me, except although LO shows up in the task manager, it just stops at the splash screen. And even when I end the process via task manager, the splash screen stays displayed for a while. Eventually, it goes away.
This issue has happened with every version since a couple versions ago. That's also, of course, when I just started using the portable version, so for all I know, it very well could have started much sooner than that had I used it before then.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling LO portable (through PAP) multiple times, and this has been the case every single time. Not once has it gone beyond the splash screen, as described.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 on an HP Compaq dc5700 SFF Base.

The patch was for the old 5.0.0 release which didn't include the VC12 runtimes. LibreOffice Portable 5.0.1 already includes all the necessary runtimes. If you're having issues now, it's something different. LO Portable 5.0.1 runs without issue on Windows XP through Windows 10 regardless of VC++ runtimes installed now. Please post a new note with the complete details of your issue. Also try running soffice.exe directly. It'll run in local mode (local settings, etc) but will show you whatever error it is that it's encountering.

LibreOffice 5.0.0 works perfectly fine on my Windows 7 box, but it wouldn't open on the old offline XP machine.
This probably isn't kosher, but what I ended up doing was copying the MSVCR120.dll plus the MCVCP120.dll (which LO also seems to want) from the BlenderPortable\App\Blender folder and placing them in the LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\program folder. That got it to work.
I don't know what effect this would have on stealth portability, however.
That's basically what the patch above is doing.

Geez, I'm smarter than I thought I was.
I ripped out my make-do and applied your patch. It works. Thank you.
Thanks
I've also solved with the patch, thank you!
