Suggestions

I like portableapps very much, but I have few suggestions about portableapps platform.

1. On WinXP when portableapps platform start menu is not visible it is not shown in the taskbar, only in tray icon, on Win7 it is always visible in the task bar. Please make an option to hide icon from taskbar.

2. Make mouse down animation for buttons (apps, options, search, help) the fact that I press the button and don't see it is pressed is very frustrating.

3. Improve "Getting More Apps", create a dialog box where it is possible to sort a table by name or category, where I could search for the application by it's name: I have to go to the portableapps.com first to text-search for the needed app and then look for it in the "Get More Apps..." dialog.

4. Improve the application updater. When I check to update multiple apps and some error occurs while downloading/installing the app or the license dialog appears, the updating process stops. I have to press [OK] to resume. The message in the end of updating is very poor - it says "The portableApps.com Updater did not complete successfully. Please try again later". Please make it to show more informative message at the end, like:
Opera, Portable Edition - download failed
Skype Portable - installation failed
LibreOffice - canceled by user
Foxit Reader Portable - successfully updated
And if something happens during updating of one app, make it to continue updating all other apps and don't pause everything.

Advanced, Tracker

You can find info on advanced options that don't yet have a GUI (covers #1) here: https://portableapps.com/support/platform#advanced

Menus within Windows don't have an animation on down presses. It may look like a down press should exist on the outdated 3d look of the alternate themes included with the platform. It doesn't fit with the modern theme (default, most use this) as well. There are no plans to add this in at present unless we switch graphical handlers and can have better events on it (think Android button presses).

You can already view the app store by category, name, release date, or updated date. The setup does not permit re-sorting on the fly.

The 2nd part of #3 and #4 are already on the list: https://portableapps.com/node/28593

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

OK, comparing to start menu,

OK, comparing to Start menu, when I click some menu item with sub-menu this item stays highlighted, but in Platform menu when I click "Apps" the sub-menu shows up, and the "Apps" item becomes unhighlighted, it feels really wrong, besides the sub-menu covers the "Apps" item. Compare to clicking "Get more apps...": it brings sub-menu, the "Get more apps..." item stays highlighted and not covered by sub-menu. Also when clicking "Options" item, Platform menu should ether disappear like any normal menu does, or the "Settings" item should stay highlighted.
