EXIF support in GIMP Portable for JPEG files?

Does GIMP portable support EXIF data in JPEG files? I read in the GIMP manual that EXIF is only supported if the libexif library is included and that is dependent on if it was selected at compile time.

Don't think it is

I don't think Gimp 2.2.xx supports preserving EXIF data. That is one of the reasons I have moved to Gimp 2.3.11 (developer unstable). The latest developer build is 2.3.14 and can be found at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=121075

I haven't installed the latest so I don't know how stable it is but 2.3.11 is very stable, but loads verrrry slowly.
